PURPOSE OF THE RELAY
Priority relay RPN-1 is designed for redistribution of power consumption in electrical systems with a limited maximum power. At excess consumed current the priority relay disconnects non-priority load. Sometimes it is necessary to limit the maximum current that is allowed to use a separate electrical system from the general electrical network or for economic reasons or because of the small cross section of the lead wires, either due to power limitations electricity supplier. Priority relays are used in order to prevent disconnection of the main circuit breaker on the input. A similar situation arises when new loads are connected without changing the electrical circuit (section of wires, circuit breakers, etc.). In this case the priority relay set in chain wich will be deactivated when exceeding maximum permissible power. Relay priority will determine when the total current of the electrical system will return to the set limits and will turn on again on non-priority loads.
The relay can increase the number of loads without changing allocated power to reduce power consumption and to prevent the inconvenience of input the circuit breaker disconnection.
It is also possible to use relay priority for use of relay protection and emergency automation schemes as the maximum current relay to protect electrical machines, transformers and another equipment when there are short circuits and overloads.
DESIGN OF THE RELAY
Relay is produced in a plastic case with a unified front connection wires power and switched circuits. Mounting is carried out on a DIN rail width 35mm (GOST R IEC 60715-2003) or on a smooth surface. To set on a smooth surface, spring locks must be changed in recent holes, fixing a spring lock, which are located on the back side of the case. Terminal design provides robust clamp wires up to 2,5mm2. On the front panel there are: control of threshold of actuation of the maximum current of 10-100%, control of time actuation relay "t", blue LED of availability current "I", red LED of overcurrent ">I".
OPERATION OF THE RELAY
The relay does not require auxiliary power. Wire load power is introduced into the hole of the case. If the measured current value exceeds the threshold value, the executive relay will turn on after the counting setting by potentiometer «t» of time delay. When returning the current values in initial state of the relay is switched off immediately. If, during this current counting value returns to threshold of set values, the operation will be continued without switching the executive relay. Threshold of actuation sets by the upper potentiometer in the range of 10 ... 100% of the maximum current value. When executive relay is closed, contacts11-12 is turn off, when turned on - closed contacts 11-14.
WARNING: Position of contacts for supply can be arbitrary, at the first operation an initial (off) state of the contact is restored.
