PURPOSE OF THE RELAY
Thermistor relay RTZ-1M is designed to protect the motors from overheating during prolonged start or stop, undervoltages, overvoltages or over-switching frequency, contamination of channels of cooling coils, etc. The relay is connected to thermoresistive sensors (PTC) or bimetallic thermocontacts built-in the motor winding.
DESIGN OF THE RELAY
Relay is produced in a plastic case with a unified front connection wires power and switched circuits. Mounting is carried out on a DIN rail width 35mm (GOST R IEC 60715-2003) or on a smooth surface. To set on a smooth surface, you need to push locks. Terminal design provides robust clamp wires up to 2,5mm2. On the front panel there are: green indicator of power on "U", yellow indicator of actuation built-in executive relay "
", red indicators "Short circuit of sensors" and "Overheating" for visual analysis alarm modes of the engine. On the side panel of the case there is a switch of operating modes: 1 - PTC or thermocontact, and 2 - operation with memory and auto power while cooling.

OPERATION OF THE RELAY
The relay controls alarm modes of engines, that are manned by built in temperature sensors, which are used as a PTC thermistor (PTC resistors) or bimetallic thermocontacts.
The relay functions independently of rated motor current, the class of insulating materials and the type of start-up. Successively included sensors connected to terminals "T1" and "T2". The number of connected sensors is limited by the total resistance of separate PTC R=R1+R2...+ Rn <= 1,5 k.
In normal engine mode the resistance of the sensors does not reach the threshold of actuation, and the built-in executive relay is turned on and the contacts 11-14 are closed. When heated even one sensor and the excess value Rload the relay is turned off and contacts 11-14 are opened, contacts 11-14 are closed.
After cooling of sensors and achievements the value Rcooling the relay automatically turns on, closing contacts 11-14.
Upon detection a short circuit in the sensors circuit (Rshort circuit <25Om) - relay turns off. Upon operation with thermocontacts a control of short cicuit of sensors is turned off. As sensors of temperature protection can be used posistors type CT14.2. Properties of the relay allow to use other posistor temperature sensors conforming the requirements of DIN44081 and DIN44082.

Thermistor relay combined with PTC thermistors or thermocontacts can also be used for temperature control: - ventilators of hot air; - bearings; - oils; - air; - heating systems; - transformers.
