Detection and indication of the causes of the alarm (phase loss, overheating and the output of the mains frequency beyond the permissible limits, the definition of fuse) and the possibility of connecting an external alarm signaling device.
- "Alarm" to the relay contacts. When an error is detected the regulator disconnects the load.
WARNING: power regulators are NOT replaced frequency converters, and using them for motor control is IMPOSSIBLE.
PURPOSE OF THE POWER REGULATOR
Thyristor regulators (hereinafter - regulators) are designed for smooth adjustment of the lamps power, heaters and other types of loads. The temperature controller in a combination with regulator allows maintaining the temperature of the object with high accuracy. It is also possible to connect an external manual control or external adjustment of set the control parameters.
Areas of application: metallurgy, food industry, drying, extrusion, heat treatment and melting glass, infrared equipment, semiconductors, petrochemicals, etc.
Regulators TRM-1M and TRM-1 can be controlled manually using a potentiometer, as well as from any controller: 0-10V DC voltage (0-5V) or 0-20mA current (4-20mA), for example a temperature controller.
Available modification with the control via RS-485 interface using the Modbus RTU protocol.

In the TRM-3M and TRM-3 is realized five methods of power control
By changing the phase angle (phase) of the thyristor opening.
Adjusting the power change of the angle (phase) of the thyristor opening (Phase Angle) – load power is proportional to the time in the open state of the thyristor half-wave voltage.
There is a linearization function. It allows you to change the voltage linearly or U2 (at constant power load resistance) to the load.
Regulator mode at ultralow loadings (from 1 to 6%). LAP function is enabled by default.

The number of pulse control method.
Thyristor switched on at the time of zero crossing of the mains voltage (Zero Crossing) for the entire period. Power to the load is proportional to the ratio of the number of periods in switched on and off state.

A batch method of controlling inductive load.
Thyristor opens with the set delay inclusion - DT (Delay Triggering) and kept open during the periods in proportion to the number of a set power. Power to the load is determined by the number of periods of «N» in the switched state for a certain number of periods «T».

This method makes it possible to compensate for inrush currents during inductive load switching.

A batch method of controlling with mode of smooth start "warming up".
At the beginning of each burst periods the output power increases smoothly from 0 to 100% (Phase Angle Mode). Then, 100% power is issued during the predetermined number of periods.
Power at output is proportional to the ratio of the length of packs of periods and period of packs follow.

where n – periods of smooth start,
d – periods of full opening.

Before the issuance of the first pack of periods the output power smoothly increases from 0 to 100% (Phase Angle mode). Then packs of periods are issued without overlocking, at the beginning of the pack a thyristor opens at the moment of transition voltage through a zero and is kept open during number of periods proportion a set power.

DESIGN OF POWER REGULATOR
Regulators TRM-3M and TRM-3 are thyristor modules with a cooler, quick acting fuse and controller, are mounted in a single case. The controller queries the external analog inputs and controlls the unit of thyristors.

OPERATION OF THE REGULATOR
Thyristor - is a semiconductor device. It may be in one of two states: open or closed. When submitting control signal a thyristor can pass a current from the anode to the cathode.
Thyristor can be opened by control signal at any time. If the current through the thyristor more then the latching current, it will remain opened, until the current passing through it more then current of retention.
A thyristor unit consists of two thyristors, included in oppositely-parallel. Each thyristor passes a current in one direction only, i.e. only positive or negative half-cycles of current.
